How the Cosori TwinFry Dual Basket Really Works

One 9-quart basket, one divider, six functions. Setup, GrandZone vs two zones, safety limits, cleaning and error codes, all from Cosori's manual.

TL;DR: The Cosori TwinFry is one 9-quart basket with a removable divider, not two drawers. Cosori's manual gives it six functions, a 1,750-watt element and a 95F to 465F span, plus a rule most buyers will miss: no more than 60 minutes of cooking in any two-hour window. Do the five-minute empty test run first, then choose GrandZone, one zone or both.

Is the TwinFry really a double air fryer? Sort of. The manual is blunter about it than the marketing is.

Nobody here has cooked on one. This is desk research: I went through Cosori's US manual for model CAF-TF901-KUS page by page and checked the numbers against its product page on October 2, 2026. Where the two disagree, or the manual says nothing, I say so.

What you're actually buying

One basket. A removable divider splits it into two 4.5-quart zones, and taking the divider out gives you a single 9-quart space. Cosori rates the unit at 1,750 watts on a 120V circuit, with times from 1 minute to 48 hours. It measures 19.0 inches deep, 11.9 wide and 11.1 high, handle included, and weighs 17.2 pounds.

The box adds two crisper plates, the divider and the paperwork. Cosori's own store listed it at $179.99 on October 2, 2026, with a two-year limited warranty and a 30-day return guarantee.

The footprint is bigger than the dimensions suggest. The manual wants 5 inches of clear space behind and above the unit, room in front to pull the basket, and nothing stacked on top because it disrupts airflow. My reading: that rules out plenty of under-cabinet corners.

The five-minute test run

Skip it and you've skipped the only warm-up step Cosori prescribes. Wash the basket, divider and crisper plates in a dishwasher or with a non-abrasive sponge. Wipe the housing with a damp cloth.

Seat the crisper plates by tilting one side in first and pressing down the other. They fit one way only, and each has four food-safe silicone stoppers, so forcing one can damage it.

Then, with the basket empty: plug in, tap power, tap GrandZone (the display shows 390F and 20 minutes), change the time to 5 minutes and start. Let the basket cool for 10 to 30 minutes afterward. A faint plastic smell is normal, Cosori says. If it hasn't faded after a few test runs, call support.

Six functions, and the ranges nobody prints

Every listing quotes the machine's full 95F to 465F span. That's the whole appliance, not any single mode. The manual's cooking chart shows the real limits:

FunctionDefaultTemperature rangeTime range
Air Fry390F, 20 min250-400F1-60 min
Roast375F, 30 min250-400F1-240 min
Bake320F, 25 min175-400F1-240 min
Broil465F, 10 min355-465F1-60 min
Reheat330F, 15 min95-400F1-60 min
Dehydrate (Dry)130F, 6 hr95-200F15 min-48 hr

So Air Fry tops out at 400F, and only Broil reaches 465F. Change a function's numbers, then hold its button until the beep to save them. To restore one, hold that button and GrandZone together for three seconds. Holding Zone 1 and Zone 2 together for three seconds resets everything.

Three ways to use the one basket

GrandZone. Crisper plates in, divider out, one setting for all 9 quarts. Cosori's troubleshooting table says cooking takes longer in GrandZone or Match with big loads, and calls that normal.

One zone. Plates and divider in, pick Zone 1 or Zone 2, and leave the other side empty.

Both zones. Each zone takes its own function, time and temperature. Two buttons coordinate them: Match copies Zone 1's settings onto Zone 2, and Sync holds the shorter job back so both finish together. The full comparison is in our Sync and Match explainer.

Mid-cook behavior is where the shared basket shows. Pull it out and both zones pause, then resume on return. You can pause one zone from its own button, or end one by holding that button for three seconds.

Worth sharing

A divider isn't a second air fryer. It's one basket with a wall in it, so buy it for the 9 quarts and treat the two zones as a bonus.

Rules in the manual that change how you load it

  • The duty cycle. The manual says not to exceed 60 minutes of cooking in a two-hour period. So how does a 48-hour dehydrate setting fit in the same document? Cosori doesn't say. Ask support before a long dry run.
  • Oil. No more than 2 US tablespoons. Spray is fine, but not cans with propellants, which can damage the nonstick coating. For fries, Cosori suggests half to one tablespoon, a 15-minute soak for raw potatoes, and strips cut about a quarter-inch by three inches.
  • Paper and foil. Never run parchment without food on top, because circulating air can lift it onto the heating coils. Foil is allowed in the basket but mustn't touch the elements.
  • Overfilling. Heaped food can touch the coils and start a fire, and it cooks unevenly before that.
  • Smoke. White smoke from fat is normal. Dark smoke means unplug it now.
  • Hot plates. Crisper plates can fall out when you flip the basket over, so use tongs and a heat-safe surface.

Idle settings clear and the unit powers down after 9 minutes. Pausing with the button gives you 30.

Cleaning, error codes and the warranty

Unplug it and let it cool; pulling the basket speeds that up. The basket and crisper plates go in the dishwasher. For baked-on grease, Cosori's recipe is 2 tablespoons of baking soda with 1 tablespoon of water, spread on, left 15 minutes, then washed with soap. Make sure the heating coil is completely dry before the next cook.

Error codes tell you which side failed. E1, E2, E3, E21 and E22 point at Zone 1. E24 through E28 point at Zone 2. E3 and E28 are overheat protection: unplug, cool completely and try again. Anything else, or a code that returns, goes to support.

One more detail worth a minute. The warranty covers the original buyer only and excludes unauthorized sellers, so where you buy it matters.

Who should buy it

If you cook one dish at a time, the 9-quart GrandZone is the draw. If dinner is usually protein plus a side, the zones help, but the shared basket means one pull pauses everything. Want to know the electricity side? We worked it out in what it costs to run. On a tighter budget, our air fryers under $100 roundup covers single baskets.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the Cosori TwinFry have two separate baskets?
No. It has one basket with a removable divider. With the divider in, you get two 4.5-quart zones with their own temperature and timer. With it out, you get a single 9-quart space that Cosori calls GrandZone. Pulling the basket pauses cooking in both zones.
Do you have to preheat the TwinFry?
The manual's cooking steps never mention preheating. They go from choosing a function straight to tapping start. The only warm-up it asks for is the five-minute empty test run at 390F before first use.
Can you cook in only one half of the TwinFry?
Yes. Put the crisper plates and the divider in, pick the zone you want, choose a function and start. The other zone stays off. Cosori's manual calls this single-zone cooking.
Is the TwinFry basket dishwasher safe?
Cosori says the basket and crisper plates are dishwasher safe. The setup steps allow the divider to be washed in a dishwasher or by hand with a non-abrasive sponge. Metal scouring pads are ruled out because fragments can reach electrical parts.
What happens if you pull the basket out mid-cook?
Cooking pauses automatically. When you slide the basket back in, the TwinFry resumes with your previous settings. If you pause with the button instead and leave it, the unit switches itself off after 30 minutes.
